• Teriflunomide (Aubagio) Teriflunomide is another daily immunomodulatory agent that is used to decrease inflammation and nerve cell damage. It is prescribed in the form of a tablet. This medication is often used to help patients get relief from MS-related symptoms.
• Ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) This medication is an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody. It is primarily used to treat and manage primary progressive and relapsing MS. This medication is usually given in injection or infusion form.
• Natalizumab (Tysabri) This medication is administered as an injection. It is used for the slowing and prevention of MS episodes and symptoms. It is also sometimes used for Crohn's disease treatment. This medication prevents specific cells in the body from making their way to the spinal cord and brain. It can also prevent them from entering the digestive tract.
• Baclofen Baclofen is a type of muscle relaxant. It can help alleviate MS symptoms, such as muscle stiffness or spasticity. Baclofen is given as an oral treatment.
• Modafinil This medication—also called diphenylmethyl‐sulfinyl acetamide—is sometimes used off-label to help treat MS patients for related fatigue or narcolepsy. This medication works by interacting with the patient’s dopamine and norepinephrine.
