Mounjaro is a once-weekly prescription injection used with diet and exercise, to improve blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes (including children age 10+). Mounjaro is not for type 1 diabetes.

Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, a medicine that targets GIP and GLP-1 receptors
Improving blood sugar control in adults and pediatric patients age 10 and older with type 2 diabetes, alongside diet and exercise
It helps the body release insulin when blood sugar is high, reduces glucagon, and slows stomach emptying which can lower after-meal blood sugar spikes.
Mounjaro can cause serious side effects, especially severe stomach issues and dehydration in some people. Don’t use it with MTC/MEN2. Tell your provider before surgery or sedation.
Mounjaro has a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors seen in rats, and it’s unknown if this risk applies to humans.
