Estring is a prescription vaginal ring that releases a low dose of estradiol locally over 90 days to treat moderate to severe genitourinary symptoms of menopause caused by postmenopausal vaginal and lower urinary tract atrophy.

A soft, flexible vaginal ring containing 2 mg estradiol that releases about 7.5 micrograms per day for 90 days.
Relief of moderate to severe symptoms due to postmenopausal atrophy, including vaginal dryness, burning, itching, painful intercourse, and urinary symptoms such as urgency and painful urination.
Estradiol is an estrogen. When released in the vagina, it helps restore local tissue health and moisture and supports the lining of the vagina and lower urinary tract.
Estrogen therapy can have serious risks, including blood clots and stroke in certain patients, and it can raise the risk of endometrial cancer in women with a uterus if not appropriately managed.
Any unusual vaginal bleeding after menopause needs prompt medical evaluation.
